LAGRANGE – John Theodore Forman ("Ted"), 80, an area resident since 1961 and formerly of Morgantown, WV, died on December 11, 2017 at the Pines of Poughkeepsie.

Born in Morgantown, WV on December 29, 1936, he was the son of Theodore McClellan Forman and Juanita Bolton Squires. Ted received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of West Virginia in 1961 and his Master’s Degree from Union College in 1973. Ted was employed at IBM as an Electrical Engineer in Poughkeepsie for 30 plus years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and was a pitcher for the IBM Fastpitch Softball League. An avid hunter, Ted was a life member of the NRA. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a life member of LaGrange Fire Company #1, and a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.

On October 12, 1956 in Morgantown, WV, Ted married Carole Smallwood who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughter, Catherine Meddaugh of Pleasant Valley; his son, James Forman and his wife Julie of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, David and Matthew Moore, Michael and Daniel Meddaugh, Courteney and Jennifer Forman; and his great-grandsons, Hayden and Mason Meddaugh. He was predeceased by his son, John T. Forman II; and his grandson, John T. Forman III.
