Mangled Mess Left After Nasty Accident in Rhinebeck, New York

An early morning car accident in Rhinebeck, NY has many believing that miracles are possible!

If you have ever had to drive in the Hudson Valley in the early morning hours you are well aware that it is normally accompanied by a few challenges. Obviously, it depends on the road you are driving with some of them not being well-lit, some having twists and turns and others being a super highway for wildlife.....LOL!

Nasty Accident in Rhinebeck, New York

It's unclear if any of the issues mentioned above are behind what led to an early morning accident in the Rhinebeck area of Dutchess County but according to the Rhinebeck Fire Department Facebook page, they were dispatched to a serious accident on Thursday leaving many believing that "miracles" are possible. The accident reportedly happened at approximately 3 a.m. on Thursday as the Rhinebeck Fire Department (RFD) was called to respond to a one-car auto accident with injuries.

The location of the accident wasn't shared by RFD but as first responders arrived on the scene they located the Hyundai car off the road (above), down an embankment, and discovered that the driver had "self-extricated" from the mangled vehicle and appeared to have suffered only minor injuries. They were transported to an area hospital for treatment. RFD requested additional services at the crash due to the extensive damage and was assisted by Hillside FD, NDP, NYSP, Dutchess County 911 dispatch, and Redl’s towing.

Police didn't reveal the cause of the accident but when more information becomes available we will update this article.

After posting pictures from the crash many couldn't believe that the driver only suffered minor injuries, with some calling it a miracle and leaving comments like, "Just wow that they were able to get out of the car on their own. Someone was watching over them, count your blessings", "It amazes me that anyone got out of that car alive thank God!" and "How in the world did anyone survive that crash?! 🙏"
