Blockbuster Movie Star Spotted Dining in New Paltz, NY
Hi Barbie! One of the stars of the most popular movies of 2023 was spotted in the Hudson Valley earlier this week.
A popular Instagram account saw Weird Barbie out and about in Ulster County last week.
Insanely Popular Instagram Account Based in the Hudson Valley
Those on Instagram who are sharing funny memes and reels may be familiar with the IG account iamthirtyaf. They call themselves a "~*MiLLenNiAL hEaVeN*~" and share content that hits the nail on the head when it comes to millennials.
I was today years old when I learned that iamthirtyaf is based out of the Hudson Valley. How did we learn they were HV natives?
Well, they shared a pretty cool celebrity sighting.
Kate McKinnon Seen Dining in Ulster County
On Threads, iamthirtyAF shared the following:
I saw Kate McKinnon sitting in a cafe in New Platz, NY today and just absolutely had to fight every urge to run up and say hi. I never want to be that person and honestly NEVER feel tat way when I see famous people but for some reason with her it just felt like I knew her and we're friends despite her very much not having the slightest clue who I am???
The post went on to ask, "Do you ever talk to celebs when you see them in the wild?"
Kate McKinnon of course, is one of the best comedians to come out of Saturday Night Live over the last few years and played Weird Barbie in the mega-popular Barbie movie in 2023.
We reached out to iamthirtyaf for more details and they added that McKinnon was at a cafe in New Paltz working on her computer. Based on rumors floating around and some context clues, we believe she may have been at Lagusta's Luscious.
Did Weird Barbie Dine with Fellow "Weirdos" in New Paltz?
Lagusta's Luscious Chocolate Shop is located on North Front Street in New Paltz, and their Instagram bio explains why Weird Barbie herself may have been dining there.
They write:
"the attitude on these weirdos is unbelievable."
Seems like the perfect quote for Weird Barbie.
Lagusta's Luscious is currently preparing for Easter with peanut butter-filled chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies (in dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and raspberry white chocolate flavors), and their "beloved English cream eggs."
