Each week on ‘In Touch’, our locally produced public affairs program, I have the pleasure of talking with individuals and organizations from all over the Hudson Valley. We focus on non-profit organizations and volunteers who are working hard to help make all of our communities better places to live, work, and raise our families.

This week Carolyn Torella, Regional Communication Director in the Hudson Valley American Heart Association, stopped by our studios to talk about the upcoming Dutchess Ulster Heart Walk (at it's new location), Go Red For Women, and Heart Month.

Carolyn also gave us tips on how to have heart healthy snacks perfect for any Big Game party, plus the Heart Association also provides cooking tips and cooking videos to help make things even easier for you to cook and eat healthy.

We also talked about the Tobacco 21 law that has been passed in 6 counties throughout New York and how it might be passed in another very soon, stand up and have your voice heard with yourethecure.org, and how 80% of heart disease and strokes can be prevented. Carolyn says it so much better than I can write it, so here's this week's show.
