Hudson Valley Man Arrested for Not Registering as Sex Offender

A man living in the Hudson Valley was arrested for not registering as a sex offender.

Monday, East Fishkill Detectives arrested 33 year old James Durlacher, residing at 2612 Route 52 near Hosner Mt. Road

Police say Durlacher was arrested for not notifying East Fishkill Police when he moved to East Fishkill. He was charged with failure to register, a class E felony.

Authorities say Durlacher is now registered and the appropriate schools and child care facilities have been notified.

According to the New York State Public Registry of Sex Offenders, the 33-year-old formally lived in Wappinger Falls. He was convicted of deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with a 14-year-old male in 2007.

Durlacher was sentenced to 16 months to 4 years in prison. He is registered as a level two sex offender. Level two sex offenders are considered to have a moderate chance of repeating.

Durlacher is due to appear in East Fishkill Court at a later date.
