You know it is fall when your ice tea turns to hot tea. Even though the weather this week or so has been warm the hot tea has arrived for the fall in my kitchen. This is the time of year that you bring back all the warm flavors that make hot Tea so great. The smell of the ginger and cinnamon blending with mint or even vanilla it will warm you as soon as you feel the first chill in the air. Can you say bring on the Chai.

Now I realize that their are people who drink hot tea all year long. Some drink it instead of coffee in the morning. But let's face it nothing is a satisfying as that first hot cup of tea in a late afternoon at the end of a fall weather day. We are lucky in the Hudson Valley because there are so many places we can get loose leaf tea and signature blends.

Checkout the list we made for you of some of the Tea shops you should visit this fall.

Harney & Sons - Millerton New York

ImmuneSchein Ginger Elixir - West Hurley New York

The Tea Shop of Woodstock - Woodstock New York

Mudd Puddle - Water Street Market New Paltz

Also if you are looking to pickup your tea a notch to an adult level that might fall in to the category of toddy then be sure to add a bit of your favorite Hudson Valley distilled spirit to you cup. A Hot Toddy is the perfect cure for a scratchy throat due to a chill in the air or your run of the mill germ.
