Hilarie Burton Shared ‘TRL’ Memories a Week Before Ben Affleck Groping Video Resurfaced
Actress Hilarie Burton got an apology from Ben Affleck for groping her 14 years ago on MTV's "TRL."
Video of the handsy Hollywood star surfaced on Twitter after Affleck broke his silence on the litany of sexual harassment and assault allegations brought against studio mogul Harvey Weinstein in The New York Times and The New York this week.
Following Affleck's statement on Weinstein, Twitter user Shanice Brim said, He also grabbed Hilarie Burton's breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though."
Burton, who was a 21-year-old VJ at the time Affleck grabbed her left breast on camera, responded simply, "I didn't forget."
Burton shared a clip from TRL, which included the groping incident and her description of it.
Thankfully, her time at TRL wasn't all negative.
Burton spoke to Townsquare Media radio station 94.3/97.3 The Wolf in Poughkeepsie in early October 2017 about her time on TRL, recalling an atmosphere in which staffers were encouraged to share their ideas for the show.
"It didn't matter if you were the executive producer of the show or you were this brand new intern. They let everyone present their ideas," Burton said.
Burton had dropped by The Wolf's CJ in the Morning Show to talk about a charitable event for Astor Services, a nonprofit that supports at-risk kids in New York. Burton and her husband, The Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan are passionate supporters of the Rhinebeck-based organization, and Burton spoke fluently and at length about the support Astor Services provides in the community.
She didn't rule out an appearance on the TRL reboot on MTV.
"That's my home base, they were so good to me," Burton said.
