Helen M. Farley, a Wappingers Falls Resident, Dies at 100
Helen M. Farley, 100, of Wappingers Falls, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Born May 19, 1917, in Millbrook, N.Y., Mrs. Farley was the daughter of the late William Henry Smith and Phoebe Morse Smith.
She is survived by her children, Joan Podloski (Joseph), Willard Farley Jr., Barbara Them, Helen Christensen, Betty Regg and a brother, Charles Smith.
She was predeceased by her parents; eleven siblings; her husband, Willard Farley Sr. who died in 2001; her son, Robert Farley; and granddaughter, Janet Them.
Helen had 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Helen, known as "Gram", was very active. An avid bowler, Gram enjoyed bowling for decades with family and friends. She crocheted afghans, a labor of love for her and a blessing to all who received them. Gram loved being outdoors working in her flower gardens and using her riding mower to take care of her yard.
Family will receive their friends on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Celebration of Life service will be held following visitation at 3:30 pm.
