Hector Cuevas, a New Windsor Resident, Dies at 68

Hector Cuevas, 68 of New Windsor, a retired Army Lieutenant and officer for NYC Housing Police, entered into rest Wednesday, June 7, 2017. The son of the late Jose and Josefa (Reverol) Cuevas, he was born March 12, 1949 in Puerto Rico.

Hector’s most important thing was his family, and he showed love and dedication every day in everything he did. A loving husband, father and friend, he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia Cuevas, at home; his children, Selina and her husband Jerry Napolitano and Eric Cuevas, all of New Windsor; and his siblings, Awilda O’Connor, Jose Cuevas and Angela Cuevas.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday, June 13 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, June 14 at St. Mary’s Church, Washingtonville, with burial following in Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery, Goshen.
