Gerrieann Bramble, An Area Resident, Dies at 65

Gerrieann Bramble peacefully passed away on her 65th birthday, Friday November 18, 2016 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation & Extended Care Center in Highland, New York. She was surrounded by loving family and received a blessing from a local Catholic priest who anointed her forehead and helped clear her path to transition.
Gerrieann was born on November 18, 1951 in Morvant Trinidad to Cleveland Maturine and Veronica LeMaitre. Gerrieann attended St. Gill's College High School in St. Joseph's Trinidad, then Tranquility High School in Port of Spain Trinidad, class of 1968. Her family emigrated from Trinidad to New York City on July 21, 1968. When she arrived in America she attended Manpower Technical Institute. On June 16, 1971, she married her longtime friend Victor H Bramble, son of Edwin Bramble and Edna Savory. Their marriage ended prematurely at Victor’s death on November 15, 1971, but their love was fruitful as they created their only son Victor H Bramble Jr.
She was not swayed by the various obstacles that life threw her way. She was relentless on her pursuit of self-growth and awareness. She pushed on to sharpen her mental wit studying at The College of New Rochelle, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. Also, to reap the full benefits of the American dream she received her U.S. Citizenship from the Supreme Court of New York State on September 15, 2006.
She described herself as “a 60 something year old woman with nothing but time on my hands. So I keep busy making jewelry, traveling, listening to music, and counseling young people through life's obstacles”. Her sister Vilma says “she is a gem who will be sorely missed”. Gerrieann is survived by her son, Victor H Bramble Jr and his wife, Tanya Bramble; siblings, Mary Vilma Bain, Martin Gerard Maturine, Thomas Maturine, Latoya Maturine and the late Anysia Maturine; grandchildren, Victor Eric Bramble, Owen Bramble and Kelly Bramble; nieces and nephews, Lennox Maturine, Hakeem Maturine, Kamarie Maturine, Khaleel Maturine, Gabrielle Eustache, George Anthony Nicolls, Colleen Noble, Debbie Ivory, Pamela Nicolls, Kurt Nicolls, David Nicolls, Derek Nicolls, Melissa Foster, Kischi Johnson, and Kevin Foster; in laws, Yvonne and George Nicolls, Joyce Foster, Shirley and Ben Clinkscale, Ed Ivory, Vicki Nicolls, Allison Nicolls, McDonald Bain, Donna Maturine, Lennox Antrobus and Ayana Greaves; and extended family and friends, The Bramble Family, The Maturine Family, The LeMaitre Family, The Tourella Family, The Bain Family, The Roachford Family, The Turner Family and The Fontaine Family.
