Frederick W. Julius, Jr., a Hopewell Junction Resident, Dies at 80
HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Frederick W. Julius, Jr., 80, formerly of Ossining, died on August 9, 2017 at home. Born in the Bronx on February 23, 1937, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Elizabeth (Knauschner) Julius, Sr.
Fred served in the US Navy. His greatest achievement was his career with the NYPD. He retired in 1979 after serving 20 years in the 41st Precinct and then headquarters. During his retirement, he was Head of Security at Maryknoll Seminary.
Frederick is survived by his son, William Julius; his partner of many years, Gwendolyn Zito; his daughter-in-law, Susan Julius; his grandchildren, Frederick IV, Meagan, Christopher, William, J.R., Michael, Jennifer, Jessica, Dean, and Jacqueline; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Burkhardt) Julius and son, Frederick W. Julius, III.
