Frank P. Cartman, an area resident for 44 years and formerly of Eddyville, died on October 30, 2017 at his home.

Born in Monticello on May 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Philip and Elsa (Gustavson) Cartman. Frank was a graduate of the University of Michigan, and proudly served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a Staff Engineer for over 30 years at IBM in Poughkeepsie and Fishkill where he has numerous patents filed under his name.

On October 27, 1973 at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, Frank married his beloved wife Carol Miutz who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons and their wives, Joseph and Ji Cartman of New York City, and Michael and Megan Cartman of New Milford, CT; his grandchildren, Ava, Gia and Jacob; his brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sue Cartman; his sister, Connie Manwaring; his sister-in-law, Anita Muitz; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Ted Manwaring; and his sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Raymond Scivolette. Frank's family and grandchildren have always brought him great joy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
