Two weeks ago Police Officers in Liberty were handling several calls regarding burglary complaints.

The tows of Liberty and Callicoon saw a number of burglary incidents during the week of January 16th. An investigation, that took part over a two week long period, has turned up four alleged suspects in the burglaries according to a press release. The press release states that Tonya Chapman, age 36 was arrested on January 26th while Jason Huebsch, age 31, Frank Egan, age 27 and Vanessa Sanchez, age 37, were arrested on January 27th.  All suspects are residents of the Village of Liberty. A large amount of jewelery was recovered from the investigation.

The suspects were charged with Burglary 2nd degree, a felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, a misdemeanor. Sanchez and Egan were handed additional charges for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and Tampering with Physical Evidence. According to the press release the investigation is still on going and more charges are likely to follow.

The four were arraigned in the Town of Liberty Justice Court.
