Over the past two plus years, we have certainly become accustomed to the idea of virtual meetings, gatherings, even holiday celebrations, but have you ever been invited to a virtual 'kitten shower' - if the answer is no, let's change that for you right now.

The great people at the Dutchess County SPCA on Violet Avenue in Hyde Park do wonderful work when it comes to caring for and adopting out animals, and now they've got a pretty special event planned for early next week.

Kitten Shower Live Stream on Facebook & Instagram

On Monday April 11th, the Dutchess County SPCA will be hosting a virtual kitten shower, and has a great schedule of adorable events that will be live-streamed throughout the day for community members to watch and/or participate in.

The Facebook event page for the shower can be accessed here, where staff from the SPCA will be going live throughout the day, you can also follow along with the festivities on Instagram - @dcspca.  You'll be able to watch along and follow the excitement from home.

Events will run between 9:30am and 5pm and will include kitty-themed games, opening presents, cake with a special guest, and of course, instructions to plenty of adorable little kittens.  The Dutchess County SPCA expects to rescue between 800 and 1,000 kittens this season alone.

How Can I Help Local Kittens?

So what can you do to help support the Dutchess County SPCA and local kittens?  Consider making a purchase from their wishlist - the most needed kitten supplies right now are canned kitten food, kitten milk replacer, and heating pads but there are a number of items on their wishlist for you to choose from.

Kudos, once again, to the people behind these efforts, who truly give their all for the benefit of these animals.  Remember when some of their staff slept at the shelter during a snow storm to make sure the animals were taken care of?
