Charlotte Russe Returning to Hudson Valley Malls
Fast fashion company Charlotte Russe announced bankruptcy and abruptly closed stores earlier in 2019.
On February 4, 2019, the young women's retailer, Charlotte Russe, officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. We reported then that the bankruptcy came from poor sales and debt, as well as not being able to keep up with the quickly changing trends in the fashion world to function as a fast fashion business.
With the bankruptcy, Charlotte Russe announced they would be closing all stores across the country. Originally, they only had plans to close select locations. Within the Hudson Valley, Charlotte Russe had three locations in Poughkeepsie, West Nyack, and White Plains. The stores were closed by the end of April 2019.
Fast forward to July 9, 2019, Charlotte Russe has decided to open select locations across the country. Two of those locations will be in the Hudson Valley. According to a press release from Pyramid Management Group, Charlotte Russe will be returning to the Poughkeepsie Galleria in Agust of 2019 and to the Palisades Center in October 2019. These two local locations are two of the 100 planned re-openings.
The marketing director for the Poughkeepsie Galleria, Jessica Pecchia, said "We are incredibly excited to welcome back the Charlotte Russe brand to Poughkeepsie Galleria for our guests who love the brand’s affordable, on-trend fashions. A move like this speaks volumes about how dynamic, market-dominating and high-performing Poughkeepsie Galleria is, and we know our guests share in the excitement of welcoming Charlotte Russe back.”
