Charles L. “Chuck” Schweiss, a Longtime Area Resident, Dies at 78
HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Charles L. “Chuck” Schweiss, 78, an area resident since 2000, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at home. He previously lived in Mohegan Lake.
Born in Sharon, PA on September 6, 1938, Chuck was the son of the late Lawrence and Anna (Chulik) Schweiss. Charles served in the US Army Reserves. He had been employed by IBM as a financial planner until his retirement.
Chuck enjoyed traveling the world while living in France. He also liked volunteering with the Yorktown Jaycees, and then at the Avalon during his retirement. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
On April 24, 1965 in Binghamton, Charles married Mary “Micki” (Pearl) Schweiss who predeceased him on June 6, 2011. He is survived by his daughters, Tina Tremarzo of Hopewell Junction and Teri Schweiss of Poughquag; his grandchildren, Taylor and Anthony Tremarzo and Billy McDonald; his brother, Lawrence Schweiss, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his 2 sisters and 1 brother.
