Carol Grace Segur, a Hopewell Junction Resident, Dies at 98
HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Carol Grace Segur, 98, passed away at home on February 24, 2018. A lifelong resident of the area, she was born in LaGrangeville on her family’s farm on June 23, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Lewis T. and Hattie Eva (Alley) Wright.
Carol was the youngest of 10 children and was a graduate of Millbrook High School. On April 26, 1942 in LaGrangeville, Carol married George W. Segur, Jr. who predeceased her on May 11, 1992.
Carol was for years a friend of the Trinity United Methodist Church in LaGrangeville. Besides enjoying family and friends, she loved to garden, bake, and watch her favorite shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Most of all, she loved listening to her country music.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol G. Farrell and her husband Gene of Hopewell Junction; her grandsons, Steven Farrell (Jennifer) and Shane Farrell (Liz); her precious great-grandsons, Graeson and Lucas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was predeceased by 7 brothers, Lewis Wright, Jr., Chester Wright, Robert Wright, Thomas Wright, John Wright, Nehemiah Wright, George Wright; and 2 sisters, Sue Shaffer and Mary Heybruck.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the family plot at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
