Robert (Bob) Cleary, 82, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Luthern Care Center. He was born in Mt. Kisco on February 22, 1934, the son of Robert F. Cleary and Helen Sherman Cleary.On May 11, 1958, Bob was married to the former Joan Eagan, who survives at home. Bob was a service manager at various auto dealerships in the area for over 50 years.He served in th Army from 1954 to 1957, in France, Germany. He was an instructor in German technical advisory group on U.S. tanks. He attended Tank school in Aberdeen, MD. Bob loved working on cars. He worked in the automobile industry for 50 years until his retirement. His family adored and loved him, and he loved his family. There was not a gentler soul. We will all miss him and those sparkling blue eyes. There is a special bond we all share because of the love he and our mom created, one that none of us takes for granted. We love you Pop, and will miss you each and every day. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Debi Skapetis(James), Bill Cleary(Lisa), Donna Feller(Steve), Karen Albrecht(Steve), grandchildren, Chrissy Gallagher(Scott), Mikey Skapetis and fiance Kerry, Tyler Albrecht, and Keri Cleary, Great grandchildren, Brooke Skapetis, Xavier Gallagher, Connor & Colten Skapetis, and Leighla Gallagher, a brother, James Cleary, cousins, Carole and Pam Nugent, several nephews, and a granddog, Cindiluwho. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Sokol on May 23, 2016, and an aunt and uncle, Dot and Jack Nugent. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls.
