Ben Corlieto, a Saint Johns, Florida Resident, Dies at 85
Ben Corlieto, a resident of Saint Johns, Florida, entered into rest Thursday, November 2, 2017 at McGraw Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 85.
Son of the late Martino and Mary DePaolo Corlieto, he was born July 26, 1932 in Mount Vernon. He married the former Carol McCue Kachmar on October 12, 1996. Mrs. Corlieto survives at home.
Prior to his retirement, Ben worked as a music teacher with the Yonkers School District. He was a musician and played the trumpet professionally. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in October of 1954.
In addition to his wife of twenty-one years, he is survived by his two daughters, Geraldine Judge and her husband, George of Joliet, Illinois, Judith Bratcher and her husband, Robert of Homer Glen, Illinois and Pamela Lord; his step-children, Laura Gomez, Richard Kachmar and Tara Boreham; his brothers, Martin Corlieto of Cape Coral, Florida and Robert Corlieto of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Matthew Corlieto, Misty Stevens, Gina Young, and Nicholas Bratcher; several great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Jonanthony Judge.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
