Now that fall has fallen onto the calendar there is no excuse not to head out to your favorite farm stand and grab up fresh Hudson Valley Apples. Pick them yourself or buy a pre-picked basket, whatever work for you and your family. No what to do with all those apples? There is the obvious things like make apple pie or apple crumble. You could even branch out and make apple ice cream but whatever you do make sure you set aside a bunch for homemade apple sauce.

So easy to make and so good on so many things home apple sauce is the go to condiment in my opinion for fall food. We spend the summer putting Bar-b-Que sauce on just about everything now is the season for apple sauce to step in and share the plate.

The fun thing about making apple sauce at home is you can add your our spices. Imagine your apple sauce with a kick of sriracha or even curry. And don't feel like you have to use a certain apple. We have such great varieties here in the Hudson Valley mix it up with Ginger Gold, Honey Crisps and of course a Gala or two.

Here is a recipe that includes apple sauce from Jamie Oliver that I recommend for dinner at your house. No need to get his fancy cooking supplies just go for your version of it.
