Another New Restaurant Scheduled to Open on Route 9
We're experiencing a restaurant boom on Route 9.
Earlier this week we told you that Mix N Mac was planning to open their first Dutchess location in the Village of Wappingers next to a brand new Starbucks. Other restaurants have also announced new, Route 9 locations including the 110 Grill which is expected to open in the Spring of 2019.
Now, another restaurant is now under construction, taking over the space of two businesses that have remained vacant for years. Joe's Italian Market in the Lawrence Farms plaza has sat empty since the beloved deli shut their doors for good. Now, a new restaurant is moving into the abandoned market, along with another empty business next door.
Signs of construction can now be seen at the south end of the plaza where the new restaurant and bar is being erected. Signs advertising AMA Wood-Fired Kitchen and Bar have been put across temporary walls with a message that the restaurant is "coming soon."
There is already a restaurant on Main Street in Beacon named Enoteca Ama, serving wood-fired pizzas. They are the sister restaurant to Cafe Amarcord, also located on Main Street in Beacon.
According to minutes from a recent Town of Wappingers Planning Board meeting, the restaurant is also looking to erect large tents for outdoor seating in the warmer months of summer.
The Lawrence Farms Plaza is home to two other restaurants including Farm To Table Bistro and Hudson's Ribs and Fish.
