Annamae Clearwater Flanagan entered into rest peacefully at Elant at Fishkill on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the age of 103. Annamae was born in Newburgh, NY on March 9, 1913, to the late Ella A. (Piggott) and Edward J. Clearwater. She was married to the late Leo P. Flanagan and they raised their family of 5 children in their home of over 60 years on Beacon St. in Newburgh. Annamae was the beloved mother of Leo Paul (Jane) Flanagan of Lexington, MI, (Nicholas (Ruth) Flanagan of New Port Richey, FL, Eleanor (Carl) Doderer of Newburgh, NY, Rebecca Doderer of Athens, NY, and Mary Ellis of Mesa, AZ. Loving Grandmother of Colleeen, Christopher (Lynne) and Sean Flanagan of Michigan. Nicholas Flanagan of Newburgh, Catherine La Fata of Michigan, Howie and Karl (Carolyn) Doderer of Newburgh, Paula (Richard) Brannigan of Highland Falls, Jennifer (Michael) Lyndrup and Tricia Flanagan of Hawaii, Amy(Michael) Cohen and Matthew Ellis of Saugerties, Timothy (Samantha) Ellis and Katherine (Thomas) Lynch of Walden and Daniel (Elvira) Ellis of Lexington KY, Sue Anne Egan (James) of FL and Patricia (Mark) Haustein of MI and their families, and many Great Grand Children. Also surviving are Sister in law, Ethelyn Clearwater, as well as many nieces and nephews, including Selma and Harold Flanagan of Lake Worth, FL and dear friends, Adele Capuano and Gail Atkins who have been a part of our family for many years. Annamae was devoted to her family and as her grandson said, she was always there willing to help whenever she could. Annamae was predeceased by her parents, sister Catherine D. Clearwater, brother Edward V. Clearwater as well as her husband, Leo P. Flanagan and son in law Richard Doderer. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church Newburgh for most of her life. She loved playing bingo and going to Atlantic City. Annamae was retired from the NY Telephone Co. and a member of the Telephone Co. Pioneers. Our family would like to thank the staff at Elant at Fishkill for the wonderful love and care they have given to our Mom for these past 10 years, especially Sarah from North 2, and the staff on North 1 unit. Their loving care contributed so much to our Mom’s quality of life in her later years. Because of the Activities Dept. at Elant and the joy they provided to our Mom and all the residents, we respectfully ask, if desired, contributions may be made to Elant at Fishkill, Activities Dept. 22 Robert Kaisin Way, Beacon, NY 12508, to help them to be able to continue their wonderful work for the residents in the future. Visitation will be held on Wed. September 21,2016 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thurs. September 22,2016 at 10:30AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Newburgh.
