Hollywood on the Hudson strikes again. A few weeks ago it was announced that new show on Amazon Prime would be using a popular Hudson Valley destination as their backdrop.

The show Upload starring Robbie Amell was released on May 1, 2020, and is already signed on for season 2. Deadline reports that the futuristic-romantic-comedy was picked up for a second season just one week after it's release. Season 2 will "exclusively stream on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide."

Upload, which is created by Greg Daniels who also created The Office, takes place in 2033 when you can decide where you go when you die. We're not talking heaven or hell, we're talking a new virtual afterlife.

Anyway, the virtual afterlife looks a lot like the historic and extremely popular Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz. That's because it is. However, not really.

Upload, sadly, did not film in Ulster County. The show actually filmed in Vancouver but used exterior shots of Mohonk to set the stage for the luxurious afterlife.

Now that there's officially a season 2 and the Hudson Valley is getting more and more popular when it comes to filming locations, why not actually film here?

I'm just throwing it out there, it could be extremely beneficial to our economy especially due to how hard we were hit during the COVID-19 outbreak and New York on Pause.

Greg Daniels, I hope you're reading this!

Upload is available now for streaming on Amazon Prime.
