New Yorkers like to party, and clearly, so do the students that attend college here.

The college stereotype is in full force at 3 New York universities. The Princeton Review put out their annual list of the top party schools in the country and New York made the best showing of any state.

The Princeton Review based their rankings on 5 major factors, according to Delaware Online:

  1. Beer consumption
  2. Liquor consumption
  3. Drug consumption
  4. Hours student spent outside of the classroom daily
  5. The popularity of the fraternity and sorority scene on campus

The University of Delaware was ranked as the number 1 party school in the country, a big step up from their number 6 spot last year.

The three New York colleges that made the list surprise me a little bit, considering they're all private schools. Syracuse University came in as the #4 party school. Colgate University was ranked the #9 party school in the US. Union College in Schenectady was ranked the #15 party school in the country.
