An underage drinking initiative detail took place in Dutchess County where 19 businesses were tested, and it resulted in two establishments who were not compliant. 

On Friday November 25, 2016, the New York State Police in Rhinebeck conducted the underage drinking initiative. Police had a 19 year-old female, who was supervised by a plain-clothed member of State Police attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages from 19 different establishments in Dutchess County.

Two businesses sold alcohol to the underage female volunteer: Bourbon Street Liquors in Hyde Park, and the Mobil Gas Station on East Market Street in Rhinebeck. Both clerks from the businesses were charged with selling alcohol to the underage person, and are due in court at a later date.

The New York State Liquor Authority assisted in the detail.
