The second-year cadet said Diamond Foxxx agreed to be his date at West Point's Yearling Winter Weekend, a formal celebration for the second-year cadets if he could pay for her hotel room and a plane ticket.

The cadet started a GoFundMe to help pay for those expenses. 16 people donated nearly 400 dollars over the weekend before the cadet was "advised" to take the GoFundMe down, according to Task & Purpose.

“Federal law prohibits members of the military from using their official positions for personal gain,” West Point said in a statement, according to the Army Times. “This prohibition extends to using or appearing to use ones military status to solicit gifts of money.”

After learning about the story, 92.7/96.9 WRRV wants to help make the cadet's dream come true. The Hudson Valley alternative rock radio station has offered to pay for Foxxx's hotel room.

"I saw this story and felt bad for this cadet," Nick Kessler from WRRV's Morning Grind told Hudson Valley Post. "If it's his dream to take Diamond Foxxx to the ball then who are we to stand in his way? Hopefully, this gesture could be his first step in making his dream a reality."

The cadet would still have to pay for Foxxx's airfare and other travel accommodations. Kessler has talked with Foxxx who really wants to be the cadet's date.

"I agreed because he was very kind and respectful when he asked. He was polite and I could just tell it would make his life if I agreed," Foxxx told Kessler in a message shared with Hudson Valley Post.

While it would be a dream come true for the cadet, it turns out, it's also an experience Foxxx would cherish because of her family's military background.

"I’m also from a full military family. The chance to go to a formal at West Point would have been such an honor and a thrill and frankly, a once in a lifetime opportunity for me," Foxxx said. "And for this kid to get to take me, a person who he deeply admires would be a huge deal to him. One he’d never forget."

Foxxx believes the unnamed cadet's command won't allow her to come to the banquet and that the cadet might be in deep trouble for trying to bring her. However, if it somehow can all get worked out, Foxxx would still "love to go."

"Of course I’d go if they agree to let me," Foxxx said. "It would seriously be a huge deal. And a chance I’d take seriously and professionally. So, yes, I’d love to go."

On Monday around 8 a.m. Foxxx will talk about everything on 92.7/96.9 WRRV's Morning Grind.
