Parts of the Hudson Valley May See 6 to 8 Inches of Snow
More snow is expected today for the Hudson Valley, with some areas forecast to see 6 to 8 inches.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for Western Ulster, Sullivan, Delaware, Western Greene and Eastern Columbia counties until Thursday.
Snow and blowing snow is expected.
About 2 to 6 inches is predicted for Sullivan and Delaware counties, with the higher totals falling in higher terrain.
Mountainous areas of Delaware County could see 6 to 8 inches of snow.
In Western Ulster and Western Greene counties, 1 to 3 inches of snow is forecast with 5 inches in high elevations.
Eastern Columbia County is expected to see 2 to 5 inches of snow.
The National Weather Service says to plan on slippery road conditions, including during the Wednesday evening commute. Wind gusts as high as 35 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow.
The National Weather Service also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Eastern Ulster, Eastern Greene, Western Columbia, Rockland and Westchester counties for Wednesday.
Occasional snow showers and flurries will continue throughout the day in Dutchess, Eastern Ulster, Eastern Greene and Western Columbia counties. A dusting to 2 inches of new snow is possible.
Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties should see scattered snow showers late this afternoon into this Wednesday evening. Snowfall may be briefly heavy, leading to reduced visibilities and slick road conditions during the evening commute.
