One person lost her life in a fiery three-car crash near the Woodbury Commons. Four others are injured, two are in critical condition.

On Saturday around 1:10 p.m., a 2017 Hyundai being operated by Loreal Maldinaldo, 28, of Ozone Park crossed the double yellow lines on Route 6 in the Town of Woodbury and hit a 2017 Ford traveling in the other direction head-on.

A 2008 Chevrolet traveling west also hit the Ford as it came to a stop in the westbound lane.

The Hyundai caught fire. Someone who witnessed the accident removed the three occupants from the vehicle before the fire spread.

Maldinaldo was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two passengers, a 13-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, were transported to Westchester County Medical Center where they are both listed in critical condition.

The Ford's driver, 36-year-old Nickelson Moreau of Nanuet and his passenger were taken to Orange Regional Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

Nobody in the Chevrolet was injured in the crash.

Route 6 near the crash was closed for four hours.
