With back to school shopping underway, most kids need a water bottle for school this year and if you purchased one at Target, Walmart or many other stores, you have to check out this recall.

According to Business Insider, the water bottle company Contigo is recalling 5.7 million kids water bottles because of a potential choking hazard with some of the bottles sold nationwide.

The recalled bottles are called "Contigo Kids Cleanable" water bottles, and they come in three different sizes, including 13 ounces, 14 ounces, and 20 ounces and were sold online and in stores for between $9 and $24 from April 2018 through June 2019.

The recall is being conducted because Contigo said the silicone spouts could detach from the bottles and cause a possible choking risk to children. They also said that the recall affects only bottles with a black colored spout base and cover.

There have been 149 reports of the spouts detaching, including 18 of them where the detached spouts were found in children's mouths.

If you did purchase one of the recalled water bottles the company said you should "immediately stop using the recalled water bottles, take them away from children and contact Contigo for inspection instructions and a free replacement lid."
