Teacher From Ulster County Accused of Raping Student
A teacher who lives in the Hudson Valley is accused of raping a student in her classroom.
CBS 6 reports, 30-year-old Marina Viviani of Kingston was charged with rape and criminal sex act, felonies and four counts of misdemeanor sex charges.
Viviani is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old student in late 2014 when she was a teacher at the LaSalle School in Albany. According to the schools website, the school offers residential services to vulnerable youth and youth in crisis.
The Ulster County woman is also accused of continuing the relationship with the student between Nov. and Dec. 2014 with phone calls, texts, photos and a trip to New York City.
According to CBS 6, Vivani is currently an English teacher at Cohoes High School, also in the Albany area. She was recently placed on administrative leave.
