Have an old car seat? Need a new one?

In celebration of what some call "Earth Month", the folks at Target have started their annual car seat trade-in event at Target stores nationwide, including stores here in the Hudson Valley.

The car seat trade event runs now through May 4th and if you are interested in getting rid of an old seat or maybe you need to upgrade to a new size or style, you can get up to 20% off a new one.

Here's how it all works, according to NBC 4, bring in any unwanted car seats to your local Target store and get a coupon for 20 percent off a new car seat, booster seat, car seat base, travel system or stroller from Target stores or Target.com.

If you have a seat you want to get rid of, go to your local Target and bring your seat to the drop off box near the Guest Services area, and a Target team member will give you your coupon.

Customers can get one coupon per seat that's dropped off and the coupon is good now through May 11, 2019.

There are Target stores in Poughkeepsie, Middletown and Kingston.
