Richard A. Le Soine, an Area Resident, Dies at 85

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Richard A. Le Soine was born on 12/23/1930 and died 11/6/2016. His parents were Edith Winifred Dickerson and Dr. Louis Le Soine. Richard grew up in Poughkeepsie, his father was a psychiatrist at Hudson River State Hospital and his family lived in a house on the grounds.
After high school, Richard enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in England where he met the love of his life, June R. Summers, who survives at home. They were married for sixty four years. They moved back to Poughkeepsie where he worked for IBM and retired in 1991.
Richard is survived by his five children; Judy Bozick and her husband Donald, Suzann Shaw Kimball and her husband Kenneth, Peter Le Soine, Mark Le Soine and his wife Carol, and Patricia Moses and her husband Michael. Richard is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Christopher Shaw (Jaime), Justin Bozick, Joseph DiCarlo (Sara), Jennifer Hudgens (Jason), Laura Rathlev (Jordan), Michelle Hirschy (Joseph), Michael DiCarlo, Anthony DiCarlo (Courtney), Nicholas Hoffman, Scott LeSoine, Alyssa DiCarlo, Avery Moses, Michael LeSoine, Cody LeSoine, and Christian LeSoine. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, and a great grandchild arriving in April. Richard was predeceased by his mother, father, brother Peter Le Soine, and sister in law Barbara Le Soine.
Richard had many interests including Green Haven Rod and Gun Club, the cabin in Stoney Creek New York, and Bobby Jones Golf Club in Sarasota, Florida. He was always ready to go golfing or fishing. Richard had a love of the outdoors, camping, and spending time with his family. Everyone he met admired his humor and positive outlook. We will miss his bear hugs and laughter.
