A pair from Ulster County were driving with drugs, and thousands of dollars in cash in the vehicle.

The Ulster County Sheriff's stopped a vehicle around 11:00 am Thursday for an equipment violation. Deputies stopped the vehicle on Route 9W. Upon stopping the vehicle and an initial investigation, it was revealed that driver and the passenger were in possession of a large quantity of cash, and drugs.

The driver of the vehicle, who is identified as Kenneth G. Parks, 30, of Poughkeepsie, and the passenger, Florence H. Algarin, 37, of Kingston were in possession of a large amount of cash, more than $27,000 according to a press release. They were also in possession of a quantity of Marijuana.

Deputies were assisted by members of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

The occupants of the vehicle were released on appearance tickets and due in court at a later date.
