Get Ready, NY Fishing Season Kicks Off April 1 (No Foolin’)
Fancy yourself to be the fisherman? Do you love to sit out on the water for hours and hope to catch "the big one?" Or are you content to find the rhythm between nature, the water and a perfect cast, not really bothered by not catching, but satisfied with fishing? Well, get ready that time of year where you can say to your family, "See ya later! I've got to go fish!" is about to be upon us.
Here is what Governor Cuomo had to say about the kick off to fishing season, April 1:
“New York is home to some of the best fishing in the country and through our NY Open for Fishing and Hunting initiative, we are making it easier for anglers to enjoy this proud tradition. I encourage residents and visitors alike to take advantage of these opportunities and start planning their first fishing trip of the season right here in New York State.”
