If you are thinking of traveling out of the country, make sure you have a valid passport and if you don't, get it now before the cost goes up.

According to AZ Central, starting on April 2, 2018 the cost of U.S. Passport will go up $10 as the Department of State tries to cover the costs of processing passport applications.

The passport acceptance fee or execution fee will rise from $25 to $35 on April 2nd which means that an adult U.S. passport book will cost you $145 and for children 16 and younger it'll cost $115.

They also offer a less expensive passport card, which are good for border crossings and travel by sea to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean but are not valid for international air travel for $65 for adults and $50 for children.

If you would like to avoid the fee, you can apply for a passport renewal by mail.

To apply for a U.S. Passport you can visit the State Department's website.
