Mary Anne Giordano, a Hyde Park Resident, Dies at 75

Mary Anne Giordano of Hyde Park passed away on January 27, 2016 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.  She was 75.

Mary Anne was born on November 1, 1940 in Mount Vernon, New York to the late Walter and Mary Beckett Heisler.  Mary Ann grew up and attended school in Yorktown Heights, NY. After graduation, she attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. Mary Anne was a stay-at-home mother until she began working at IBM as a test analyzer. Mary Ann retired from IBM in 2006 with more than 25 years of service.

Mary Anne married Lawrence Sambuco in 1960 and they had three children together. He predeceased her in 1982. On February 22, 1995 Mary Anne married Guy Giordano in New Paltz, NY.

Mary Anne is survived by her devoted husband Guy Giordano of Hyde Park NY, Loving children Deborah Minnerly and her husband Daniel of Highland NY, Michael Sambuco and his wife Ligia of Madeira Beach FL, Catherine Leverenz and her husband Scott of Seminole FL, her stepdaughter Susan Giordano of Highland NY.  Cherished grandchildren David, Alina, Michael, Joshua, Dominic, and Justin.  Her dear Brothers Richard Heisler and his wife Yvonne of Dover DE, Thomas Heisler and his wife Teresa of South Yarmouth MA.   She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, James Heisler in 1990.

Mary Anne was a member of the IBM Retiree’s Club and enjoyed going on trips as well as planning and attending lunches. She was also a member of the IBM Quarter Century social group.

Friends may call on Friday February 5, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Parmele Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave, Poughkeepsie.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 6, 2016 at 10am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the COPD Foundation (copdfoundation.org).
