Louis I. Horton, an Area Resident, Dies at 79
Louis I. Horton went to his Heavenly reward on December 10, 2017. He was residing at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was born the son of Charles and Margaret Horton on April 30, 1938. Lou attended Wappingers Central Schools and graduated in June 1958. He was an active member of the U.S. Marine Corp from Aug. 1, 1958 through July 31, 1962. He then was in the Reserves for 2 years. Lou was employed by IBM, Montgomery Ward, Emil Tshudin & Son, and the Dairy Mart in Hughsonville. He was also a member of the American Legion Post and S.W. Johnson Engine Co., both in Wappingers Falls. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife Rose (formerly Rose M. Francese) who he married September 14, 1963. He leaves behind three sons, David F. Horton and his wife Eileen, Travis Horton, John F. Horton and his wife Rachael Morphet, and Louis B. Horton and his wife Kerri. He is also survived by grandchildren, Alex Morphet and his wife Catherine, Dylan Morphet and his wife Courtney, Kayley Karpisz and husband Ryan, Patricia Horton and Roy, Michael Kastecke and Nico, Megan Morphet and Shea, Nicole, Alex and Zachary Horton. He also leaves behind 8 Great Grandchildren, Peyton, Bionca, Kirsten, Ethan, Aidin, Stacia, Benjamin and Eli. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Saturday fro 2 to 6 PM. Services will be held at 4:00 PM. The American Legion will conduct a service during calling hours.
