If you've ever been in downtown Kingston, specifically Wall Street and North Front Street you will have noticed that the canopies that cover the sidewalks are in need of repair and/or replacement.

City officials released a survey asking the public its thoughts on the project.

According to Daily Freeman, the cost for repair is an estimated minimum of $450,000 and the cost to demolish and repair estimate at around $868,000.

The survey is open until Friday, March 8th at 4:30pm and asks 3 questions.  If you would like to weigh in your thoughts, you can do so HERE.

The city received in 2018 a $1.6 million dollar grant to repair the canopy's but city officials are trying to determine the best way to handle the situation.

I'm all about change but I'm also all about tradition and nostalgia so in my opinion, we repair them, save money and use it for further improvements of the city.

It feels good to know that WE have a say.
