Joseph F. Gibbs, a Beacon Resident, Dies at 82

Joseph F. Gibbs of Beacon passed away peacefully on January 17, 2016 at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital.  He was 82.

Born on November 20, 1933 in New York City to the late Bernard and Margaret O’Reilly Gibbs.

He was a proud United States Navy Veteran serving his country during the Korean War. Joseph married Marjorie “ Bunny” on July 18, 1959

Joe and Bunny moved to Glenham in 1971 to raise there family from New York City.  He worked for UPS for 31 years retiring in 1986, after retirement he went to work for FedEx until 1996.  He was a very hardworking family man.  He enjoyed his family, crossword puzzles , playing Lotto and had a great sense of humor.

Joe is survived by his loving children Joseph ‘Jo-Jo” Gibbs and his wife Ellen, Bernard “ Buddy” Gibbs and his wife Vikki, Peggy DelBianco and her husband Louie, Lori King, Kenny Gibbs and his wife Lisa and Marty Gibbs.  13 Cherished Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.  Joe is also survived by his Brothers Martin Gibbs and George Gibbs.  He was predeceased by his Wife Bunny in 2008, his sister Margaret Gibbs and his brother Coleman Gibbs.

Friends may call on Tuesday January 19, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St, Fishkill.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 10am at St. Joachim Church, Beacon.  Interment with military honors will follow in St. Joachim’s Cemetery.
