John J. Forcelli, a US Army Veteran, Dies at 79
John J. Forcelli, 79, an area resident since 1992 and formerly of Yonkers, died on November 6, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers on December 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Thomas and Esther (Primarolo) Forcelli. John proudly served our country in the US Army and was the owner and operator of Valentine Taxi in Yonkers for 15 years before his retirement in 1987.
John’s passion was music as he entertained us all with his beautiful voice, bringing back the songs of Sinatra, his signature song being “My Way.” In the end, he did it “His Way.” We love you Dad!!!
On November 4, 1961 in Yonkers, John married Katherine Minichino who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Diane and Julius Lucido of Highland, John and Diane Forcelli of Fishkill, Robert Forcelli of Poughquag, and Thomas Forcelli of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Michael Lucido, Jason Lucido, Kristin Lucido, Isabella Forcelli, Lyla Forcelli, Christian Forcelli, and Ariana Forcelli; his great-grandchildren, Michael Lucido, Brooke Lucido and Jayden Capwell; his beloved former daughters-in-law, Natalie Miller and Sharly Campbell; and his sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and George Albano of Mount Vernon.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Friday at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
