John C. Torresson, 88 years old, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2017 at the Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
John was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 18, 1929; the son of the late Conrad and Ethel Torresson. He began his career as a Draftsman in NYC; moved to the country to join IBM Poughkeepsie in 1954 and retired as an Engineer after 32 years of dedicated service. He was an avid reader, an active member of New Hackensack Reformed Church; taught Sunday school for many years, was actively involved in Boy Scouts and most of all, his main priority was his family.
John is survived by his wife Marylou Heissenbuttel, 9 children: his daughters Cynthia(Paul) Corish, Laurel(Wayne) Morschhauser, Eva(James) Costello, Lila Simon, Heidi(Michael) Heissenbuttel, Heather(Daniel) Kelly; his sons Paul(Brenda) Torresson, Alex(Carol) Torresson, Henry Heissenbuttel, 17 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, his brother-in-law Jack(Nancy) Conklin, and his sister-in-law Barbara Ash. He was predeceased by his first wife Judith E. Torresson and his brother Roy Torresson.
Calling hours will be held from 10:30-noon on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at New Hackensack Reformed Church immediately followed by a memorial service at Noon.
