Joan (Ausanio) Brandt, 70, of Kingston, formerly of Lake Katrine, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born August 13, 1946 in Kingston, to the late Joseph Ausanio, Sr. and Marjorie (Hughes) Ausanio. Joan was married to Ronald Brandt, they wed on November 21st 1969. Ronald died on March 29th 1985.

Joan was a Kingston High School graduate, Class of 1964. She retired from Verizon where she worked for over 30 years. She was employed at the time of her death by the City of Kingston DPW. Joan was devoted to public service, not only through her job at the City of Kingston, but also through countless hours of service at the Crime Victims Assistance Program, Draft Board, and Board of Elections.

She is survived by her siblings, Patricia (Ausanio) Smith of Hurley, Joseph J. Ausanio, Jr. of New Windsor, Michael Ausanio of Tannersville, Vincent Ausanio of Jupiter, FL., her nephews, Anthony Smith and his wife Jennifer of Shokan, and Michael Smith of Kingston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews of her beloved husband Ronnie, especially Peggy Dayton, who has been a close companion for many years, as well as her friends and co-workers, especially Mary Mayone, her friend since childhood.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where friends and family may visit on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral procession will form on Friday September 2nd at 8:45am and proceeded to Sacred Heart RC Church, 1055 Broadway, Esopus, NY, 12429 where at 10am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
