Two Upstate New York Hotels Named Best in the World

One of the biggest names in travel has released its list of the 500 best hotels in the world and two Upstate New York hotels have landed at the top.

When it comes to planning a vacation with the family many of us rely on the experiences of others to try and decide where we should vacation, right? It's how many of us figured out exactly what we want to do and thankfully the folks at Travel + Leisure put a lot of work into researching the best places to vacation. Each year they come out with various lists showing the best destinations, and hotels, and this year they have announced that two hotels in upstate New York have officially been named the best in the world.

Two Upstate New York Hotels Named "Best Hotels in the World"

If you are planning to vacation in New York, you might want to spend a few nights at the best hotel in New York State according to Travel + Leisure readers. Readers of one of the biggest travel magazines in the world were asked to rate hotels worldwide. They rated rooms, facilities, location, service, food, and value and when all of the "votes" were tallied the Wylder Windham was named the best hotel in New York state.

The Wylder Windham was the top scorer this year and "won the hearts of travelers and critics alike on the international list" according to New York Upstate. The Catskill Mountain Hotel located at 19 NY-296, Windham, NY is obviously a great place to stay in the winter with the nearby ski resort Windham Mountain attracting thousands of skiers but they are also a great place to stay in the warmer months. During the summer months, the hotel guests can borrow bikes, go fly fishing, hike nearby peaks, swim in the heated pool, or play pickleball.

Mirror Lake Inn

This year's list also included the Mirror Lake Inn in the heart of Lake Placid in the Adirondack Mountains. Mirror Lake Inn located at 77 Mirror Lake Drive, Lake Placid, NY is a "frequent flyer" with Travel + Leisure as they have been named one of the best lakeside hotels numerous times and was recently named one of America’s most "Christmassy" towns.
