Popular Dutchess County Business Closing After 76 Years

Sabbellico Greenhouses & Florist in Hopewell Junction has announced that after 76 years in business, it will officially close on September 30, 2026. The announcement, which was shared with customers through email and on Facebook, explained that it is unfortunately time to bring an end to a remarkable run that has spanned more than seven decades.

“Unfortunately, it is time for us to close our doors after 76 years of growing for our neighbors and community,” the announcement reads.

The family-owned business also took the opportunity to thank the employees who have helped keep the operation going all these years. According to the announcement, some members of the staff have been with the business for more than 40 years.

The business called its employees the “backbone” of Sabbellico Greenhouses & Florist and thanked them for their loyalty and hard work throughout the years.

But the thank-you wasn't just for the staff.

The owners also expressed their gratitude to the community for supporting the business throughout its 76 years. “We have been blessed to be able to do what we love for all these years,” the announcement states. “It has been our pleasure to grow for you!”

For longtime customers, the news is undoubtedly a tough one. A business that has been part of the community for 76 years isn't just a place to buy flowers or plants.
