An adrenaline rush was detoured thanks to a tree in Orange County.

On Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, The Port Jervis Fire Department was on the scene for an out-of-the-ordinary rescue.

Skydiver Rescued from Orange County, NY Tree

According to a post on social media, the Port Jervis Fire Department explained that several units were needed for the call. The post goes on to explain that a skydiver was trapped in between 2 trees about 40 feet off the ground.

The Port Jervis Rope Team (as part of the Orange County Technical Rescue Team) responded alongside the Florida, Warwick, Newburgh, Sparrowbush, and West Point Fire Departments to attempt to get the skydiver out of the tree.

Orange County Emergency Services- NY added some additional information on their Facebook page calling it a "high angle rope rescue" adding:

The paraglider, who was uninjured, was suspended 40’ up in between two trees. The complex rescue took approximately 90 minutes to complete with the subject being removed successfully.

Thankfully, the skydiving individual was safely removed from the tree without any reported injuries.
