Ulster County Mexican Restaurant is Closing For Good

The owners of a "unique" Ulster County restaurant and banquet hall have announced that they will close forever this month.

A few years ago, we shared news that a popular prom and wedding venue in Ulster County was opening under a new name and preparing to provide guests with a new banquet and restaurant option in Ulster County.

In October of 2023, the Garcia family, which operates the Sky View Mexican Restaurant located at 237 Forest Hill Drive, Kingston, NY, announced that they were preparing to open a new Mexican restaurant at 423 Broadway (Route 9W), in Ulster Park, NY.

The former Villa Mirage and La Mirage opened as the Mountain View a short time later, offering authentic Mexican food in the restaurant and a variety of options in their banquet hall, which featured the Hudson Valley's only "sunken dance floor".

Restaurant & Banquet Hall Closing

Unfortunately, after two years, the Mountain View Banquet Hall & Mexican Restaurant announced on Facebook that they are closing, saying,

"After so many wonderful moments serving our community, it’s time for us to say goodbye."

 

The post explained that due to circumstances beyond the restaurant's control, it will close for the final time on Sunday, August 24th, 2025.

"This isn’t just the end of a restaurant — it’s the closing of a chapter filled with laughter, celebrations, and countless shared meals," said in a social media post. "We’ve been honored to be part of your birthdays, weddings, family dinners, and everyday moments that turned into lifelong memories."

The owners invited their loyal friends, neighbors, and extended family to stop in one last time to raise a toast before they close. They also thanked everyone, saying, "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making Mountain View a home. 💛"

Important Details About Closure

Any customer who has a gift card for Mountain View will only be able to redeem it during the final period (before 8/24/25). The banquet hall will continue operating until October 26, 2025, so any events scheduled before that will take place as scheduled.
