It is so exciting to see so many fun things going on at our area fire departments. Check in with your local fire department to see what they have going on and while you are there make sure to ask about volunteering opportunities.

I love that firehouses do traditional types of events and then every so often you come across something a firehouse is doing that is just a bit different. One of my favorite events to promote for a fire department is a wetdown. If you have never been to one then you are in for a treat in August.

Middle Hope Fire Department Has planned a Wetfown

A wetdown is the firehouse equivalent of throwing loose change in a new car for good luck. In this case, the firehouse when they get a new truck invites other firehouses to come by and spray down the truck with water. Of course, the home firehouse is spraying right back. It's a water cannon fight with firetrucks and fun to watch.

So what events can we look forward to at area firehouses?
