On Saturday adoption fees will be waived in order to find these animals homes.

The animals arrived at the Dutchess County SPCA on Tuesday from the San Antonio Humane Soceity.

The dogs were homeless and available for adoption in San Antonio before the devastation left by the hurricane and are now being moved to other shelters to  make room for displaced pets waiting for owners to reclaim.

The dogs are a variety of sizes, ages, and personalities, but have one thing in common...they are all looking for a place to call home.

Wayne Mabey, DCSPCA Board President said:

The effort to keep pets displaced by the hurricane in nearby shelters, so families can reunite with their beloved dogs, fits perfectly with our values at the DCSPCA.  We are doing our part to make sure the people who have already lost everything else, don’t also lose the chance to reunite with their family pet

Donations of money to offset the expense of travel, medical and housing is needed most. You can find a list of needed supplies on their Amazon Wish List.

Adoptions will be on a first come, first served basis and our Adoptions Team will be hard at work to help adopters choose which pet is right for them.

The Adoption and Education Center will be open from 12-5 pm  both Saturday and Sunday.

You can follow the DCSPCA on Facebook.
