We've all heard the "studies" that say eating chocolate every day is good for you. Today is the perfect day to be a part of the statistic.

Thursday, June 16th is National Fudge Day. Just to clarify a John Hopkins University study says that eating a couple of pieces of dark chocolate a day can lower one's risk of a heart attack. Apparently, the chocolate lowers blood clots.

Anyhow, I figured the best way to celebrate was to hit some of the local chocolate stores for some fudge. Being that I live in Dutchess County my go to chocolate shop is Apls Sweet Shop in Fishkill and Beacon. Of course their fudge is phenomenal, but have you ever had chocolate covered gummy bears? Just try it...trust me.

Another popular stop, Krause's Chocolates in New Paltz. Chocolate, chocolate walnut and cookie dough? Oh my goodsness. Mouthwatering.
