Dutchess County HVFCU Robbed Tuesday Afternoon

The Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union on South Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday at approximately 12:32 the Town of Poughkeepsie Police received a call of a reported bank robbery at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union on South Road in Poughkeepsie.

The man, identified as Nicholas J. Salfelder, 33 of LaGrangeville, entered the bank, told the teller he had a gun and demanded money.

Salfelder placed the money in a bag and exited the bank. There were no injuries and no gun was displayed.

A description of Salfelder was given to police, who located him nearby. All of the proceeds were recovered. There was no gun found on Salfelder or in the area.

Salfelder was held pending charges.
